The Legend of Eternal Heavenly God Blood God Wi Cheon-mu

Today was the long-awaited day of the first class.

The weather was perfectly sunny, without any sudden squalls, unexpected downpours, or bolts from the blue on a clear day.

It was the first class since entering the Heavenly Martial Arts Academy. Just thinking about how many complicated procedures had to be overcome to attend this one class was enough to make one feel deeply moved from the morning.

The first class took place in the Sword Dance Hall. It was a course titled “Introduction to Martial Arts,” a basic subject that all first-year students of the Heavenly Martial Arts Academy had to take. Bi Ryu-yeon, Hyo-ryong, Jang-hong, and Yoon Junho were all in the same first-year Heavenly Academy, so they could attend classes together. Of course, Moyong Hwee was also with them, but he had a peculiar constitution that made him avoid socializing, so it was as if he wasn’t there even when he was. Everyone seemed to know Moyong Hwee well, constantly making him the subject of their conversations and mentioning him. However, Moyong Hwee firmly showed the epitome of an unsociable person by responding with a resolute “no comment” to the people’s chatter focused on him.

Woo-rae was left in the care of the Hawk Pavilion. By now, he must be living in luxury, receiving the kind care of the specialized hawk breeding staff at the pavilion. Of course, Woo-rae seemed to find soaring through the skies more interesting than being tied down to one place.

The lecture hall was spacious enough to seat about 50 people, and at the front was a large blackboard, two boards wide and half a board high. Today’s class was not only a basic lecture on martial arts in general but also the class where the instructor in charge of the Heavenly Academy would be determined. Thus, everyone was filled with excitement and anticipation. Since nothing had been revealed about the instructor yet, everyone was looking at the closed door with eager anticipation.

At that moment, the slight murmur that had existed in the classroom suddenly disappeared.

“He’s here!” Hyo-ryong said, his eyes shining. The other students must have noticed it too. Even though the person didn’t deliberately hide their presence, there wasn’t a single fool in this classroom who couldn’t detect someone approaching within three-boards’ distance.

“Clack.”

Finally, the door opened, and the master who would be in charge of them walked in.

“That person is—!” Jang-hong, who always stood out, was the first to recognize him. Bi Ryu-yeon called him “ahjussi” whenever he was bored. Whether it was a natural talent or the result of hard work, he possessed considerable knowledge about the martial arts world.

“Who is it?” Bi Ryu-yeon asked, poking Jang-hong’s side with his elbow.

“Ouch, that hurts. You don’t recognize that famous person?”

Jang-hong tried to give Bi Ryu-yeon another scolding with a sharp look but soon decided to give up. He knew it would be a pointless thing to do. As the once silent atmosphere became lively again, the surroundings turned noisy once more. It seemed that Jang-hong wasn’t the only one who recognized the identity of the instructor. Bi Ryu-yeon poked Jang-hong’s side again—this time with a little more force as revenge for the scolding—signaling him to hurry up and tell him.

“Ahem, that person is none other than Ok Hyeon Jin-in, the master swordsman of Mount Wudang. His sword can revive even those on the brink of death, a true master at the pinnacle of swordsmanship.” Jang-hong explained in an excited state, unable to hide his admiration. His words were filled with genuine respect and admiration for Ok Hyeon Jin-in.

‘How unusual,’ Bi Ryu-yeon thought. Although they hadn’t been together for long, this was the first time he had seen Jang-hong showing such sincere respect for someone. The man had always acted like an ahjussi or an old man, mainly complaining and grumbling. In short, he was a nagger.

As Jang-hong had already mentioned, the master who would be in charge of Bi Ryu-yeon’s first-year Heavenly Academy, the elder of the Wudang Sect, Ok Hyeon Jin-in, gave a soft and gentle first impression overall. Particularly striking were his snow-white beard that reached down to his chest and his tied-up white hair. His appearance, reminiscent of a sage from legends, was complemented by his eyes that were as tranquil as a still lake.

However, it was too early to hastily judge him based on his outward appearance alone. Although he looked endlessly gentle and benevolent like an old man, he was a supreme master who could scatter sword energy as if it were child’s play. Even achieving the level of Unyielding Sword Energy[1] would probably not be difficult for him. He possessed the ability to demolish mountains with a single sword.

The gazes of nearly 50 students were all focused on him. The class had finally begun. They couldn’t control their pounding hearts, moved by the excitement of the first class. The lesson started with Ok Hyeon Jin-in’s greeting.

“Hello, everyone. I am Ok Hyeon from the Wudang Sect, in charge of ‘Introduction to Martial Arts’ this time.”

Ok Hyeon Jin-in, the Soft Meeting Sword, used semi-formal language with the students despite being in the position of a master. Of course, not all martial arts instructors addressed their students with such respect. There were individual differences in this regard as well.

Most classes at the Heavenly Martial Arts Academy did not require writing utensils. The emphasis was on understanding and applying principles. Of course, the use of writing tools, such as paper, brushes, and ink, was not regulated. It was entirely left to individual judgment.

The Heavenly Martial Arts Academy began education on the premise that the students were above a certain level, so most lectures often skipped the basic contents of martial arts and went straight to the main points. However, this didn’t mean that students would surrender because they couldn’t keep up with the class. After all, they were the best talents who had been carefully selected. Lectures on the basics would be an insult to them.

One of the purposes of the Heavenly Martial Arts Academy was to serve as a guide, helping these outstanding rising stars of the martial arts world quickly reach the peak of supreme mastery.

“Hey, isn’t Ok Hyeon Jin-in one of the Eight Supreme Masters of the Wudang Sect?” one student asked, pretending to know.

Ok Hyeon Jin-in, who had become their instructor starting today, was one of the eight supreme masters of the Wudang Sect, which, along with the Shaolin Sect, was known as one of the two great pillars of the martial arts world. The Eight Swords of Wudang were the objects of respect that everyone in the martial arts world knew, and at the same time, they were the spiritual backbone of the Wudang Sword Sect.

“He’s famous for making the Seven Heroes of Hasak submit with a single sword last time.”

“Are you talking about the incident five years ago when he made the Seven Heroes of Hasak kneel with a single sword without injuring anyone?”

“Yes, that incident. You know it well too.”

“Of course.”

The incident they were referring to was as follows.
